The first council of the Christian Church held at Nicaea in 325. Convened by the Roman Emperor Constantine I. Rejecting the subordinate Christology of the Areiosites, it adopted the proto-Nicene Creed, which included the identity of the Father and the Son and the uncreated nature of the Son.

 The first council in the history of the Christian Church, held in 325 at Nicaea, an ancient city in Bithynia, in western Turkey, Asia Minor. It was convened by the Roman Emperor Constantine I.


 The original Nicene Creed was adopted, which rejected the subordinate Christology of the Aleiosites and included the equality of the Father and the Son, etc. The expulsion of the Aleiosites was resolved. 


 Since the convocation was convened by the Roman emperor, it raised the issue of imperial intrusion into ecclesiastical power in later years.


 Proto-Nicaean Creed, 325

 Creed adopted at the First Council of Nicaea (325), the first council after the official recognition by the Roman Emperor Constantine I Convocation. Rejecting the Alethian theory of the Son and subordination, it recognized the homogeneity (homoousios) of the Son with the Father, His uncreated nature and His existence from "eternity past.
